Event Recap: The Human-Centered Leader in a Digital World.

Radiant’s executive breakfast series returned in May with 'The Human-Centered Leader in a Digital World.’ The event brought together a diverse group of clients and colleagues from across industries, who all share a passion for people and leadership.

With the Toronto skyline as the backdrop, executives joined Radiant at the TIFF Bell Lightbox to explore the essence of human-centered leadership in our increasingly digital world. The enthusiasm and engagement from everyone in the room were palpable, setting the stage for a morning of connection and conversation.

Radiant CEO and moderator Jennifer Collins, set a welcoming and inspiring tone, inviting a diverse array of perspectives to the stage. She laid the foundation for the morning’s discussions, emphasizing the importance of understanding AI's impact on people rather than just its technical aspects.

The event's keynote speaker did not disappoint, delivering a powerful presentation that left a lasting impact: Ivey Business School faculty member Eric Janssen spoke on critical role of being a "Human at the Helm," harnessing technology to support – not replace – human skills.

The panel discussion was a highlight, featuring a panel of executives who turned insight into real-world application, sharing their experiences and perspectives on human-centered leadership in the age of AI. The panel was joined by Cindy Bush, CHRO at TMX Group, Uma Gopinath, CIO at Porter Airlines and Joby McKenzie, Managing Director at Teladoc Health Canada. The interactive nature of the conversation allowed for rich exchanges of ideas and experiences.

The 'Human-Centered Leader in a Digital World' event illuminated the critical balance between leveraging technology and prioritizing human values. Key takeaways underscored that technology should not replace humans, but support them; enhancing their capacity to focus on inherently human tasks such as creativity, empathy, and strategic thinking. Leaders were encouraged to view technological tools as enablers that free up time for more meaningful interactions and innovative problem-solving. The importance of resiliency was a recurring theme, emphasizing that leaders must adapt to rapidly changing environments and foster a culture of continuous learning. Equipping teams with new skills to navigate digital advancements ensures they remain agile and empowered. Ultimately, the event reinforced that human-centered leadership thrives on a foundation of technological support, resilience, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

One of the most valuable aspects of the event was the opportunity for guests to connect with each other. The atmosphere was vibrant as participants exchanged ideas, formed new connections, and shared their passion for people-centered leadership. The feedback from guests highlighted the event's role in fostering meaningful connections among peers.

From the whole team at Radiant, a heartfelt thank you to our incredible keynote speaker and distinguished panelists for sharing their expertise and inspiring us all. And, of course, our deepest gratitude to all the executives who contributed their energy, enthusiasm, and passion for people-centered leadership for making this event such a success.

'The Human-Centered Leader in a Digital World' is more than just a topic; it is a celebration of what makes great leadership truly impactful: the people. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring together such a passionate and diverse group, and we look forward to continuing the conversation — please connect with us on LinkedIn to share your thoughts and experiences. Together, we can continue to grow and lead with empathy and innovation. With our collective efforts, we just know — the future is bright!
